I love decorating Easter eggs every year, but even with Easter coming around so early this year, it’s still way too soon to be decorating real Easter eggs! So, in order to practice for the real thing, Cicily and I decorated some candy dipped pretzels.
We dipped the pretzel crisps in White Candy Melts from Wilton in order to make them look like eggs. Once dried, we used a variety of colored candy melts and decorated the eggs to create these adorable Easter “eggs.”
Find out how to make them below!
What you need:
- Pretzel crisps (we used Snack Factory’s Original Pretzel Crisps)
- Wilton Candy Melts (White, Pink, Blue, Green, Purple)
- Small squeeze bottles
- Wax paper
Step 1 – Line a sheet tray with wax paper.
Step 2 – In a small glass bowl, melt enough White Candy Melts to dip the pretzel crisps.
Step 3 – Once the candy is melted, dip the pretzel crisps into the bowl. You may need to lay each side flat in order to fully cover both sides.
Step 4 – Place the candy covered pretzels onto the wax paper. Let cool for 15 minutes or until the candy has dried completely.
Step 5 – Melt the other colored candy melts in to the squeeze bottles according to the package instructions.
Step 6 – Drizzle the candy overtop the candy covered pretzels in whatever design you’d like!
With adult supervision, these are so fun for kids to help make. Obviously, do not let your child dip the pretzels into the hot, melted candy on their own. However, once the candies are melted within the squeeze bottle, you can let them decorate the eggs in whatever cute designs they desire!
Hope you all have a Happy Easter! Please share any other fun Easter activities in the comments below.
