Before writing this post, there’s one thing I just have to get off my chest. My husband recently pointed out that this is my second post about pizza this week. I instantly defended myself and explained to him its totally not because I’m pregnant, it’s because today just so happens to be National Pizza Day!
After spending a day thinking and crafting about it…all I want to do now is eat pizza! I suppose it definitely could be pregnancy related, but I will most likely be indulging in that craving and eating some pepperoni and banana pepper pizza this evening to celebrate.
So, me and my little one made these super cute bead necklaces and paired them with the free printable pizza valentines from Inspiration Made Simple.
What you need:
- Brown Perler Beads
- Yellow Perler Beads
- Red Perler Beads
- Square Perler Bead board
- Parchment Paper
- String for the necklace
- “You Stole a Pizza My Heart” printable – download here
Step 1 –
Arrange the Perler Beads onto the square shaped board to make mini Perler Bead pizzas. Follow the arrangement below if you’d like some inspiration! Be sure to leave some space between each slice of pizza to make individual necklace pendants.
Step 2 –
Place one sheet of parchment paper over top of the pizzas and turn your iron on to the medium heat setting. In a circular motion, fuse the beads together by ironing over the top of the parchment paper for about 20 seconds.
Step 3 –
Once the beads are fused together, carefully peel the mini pizzas away from the board. Leave them on the parchment paper and place on the table face up. Cover with another sheet of parchment paper.
Step 4 –
Finish fusing the pizzas together by ironing the backside of the pizzas for another 15 – 20 seconds. Do not over iron. If done properly, the beads should still have a small hole through the center.
Step 5 –
Thread a piece of string through one of the beads in the pizza crust to turn the pizza pendant into a necklace and tie the knot.
Step 6 –
Print out the You Stole a Pizza My Heart printable and fill out one for each valentine. Use a hole punch to make a hole in the card and loosely tie the pizza necklace to the card.
Your little one will have so much fun making these valentines for their classroom. You could try swapping out the pizza necklace for those little pizza gummy candies or pizza shaped erasers.
